Before the French and Indian War broke out, another movement was beginning to shake the colonies in the 1730s. It was the religious movement known as The Great Awakening. This series of revivals swept all thirteen colonies, both reinvigorating religious conviction and permanently changing the ways in which religion was practiced in America.
